Informal fish traders supply ~84% of fish, leading to health & safety concerns and limited or no availability in several towns and neighbourhoods.


Unreliable market linkage

Lack of consistent and dependable offtake prevents farmers & fisherfolk from investing in expansion and/or makes them ineligible to qualify for credit.


Limited cold chain and food safety.

Farmers and fisherfolk have not made appropriate coldchain and food safety investments, they lack throughput to make them commercially viable.


Solution

  1. Improved consumer experience - tech-enabled branded and franchisable retail channel.
  2. Reliable offtake - We offtake aggregated produce at a fair and transparent price and provide LOIs for farmers and fishermen to access credit, mainly from MFIs.
  3. Cold chain - We co-finance cold chain technology in a ‘hub and spoke’ model which is necessary to deliver a great product to market. Additionally, we offer them TA to set up post-harvest systems and SOPs that guarantee product quality.
